Summary

A funding opportunity is available to support women of color who are building or growing small businesses across the United States. This opportunity provides financial resources and long-term support to help women entrepreneurs thrive, particularly those historically underserved in traditional business ecosystems.

Eligible applicants are women of color who own or lead legally registered for-profit small businesses. Nonprofits and individuals without a business entity are not eligible. Applicants from any U.S. state or territory may apply. Funds can be used for a variety of strategic business needs, including hiring staff, investing in marketing or digital tools, purchasing equipment, or supporting product or service development. This program typically offers one-time grant awards of either $10,000 or $20,000. In some cases, entrepreneurs accepted into a year-long fellowship also receive an additional $5,000 education stipend and access to low-interest loans. Benefits extend beyond direct funding. Recipients often gain mentorship from experienced industry leaders, access to a curated curriculum focused on leadership and growth strategies, and peer networking opportunities. This ecosystem of support is designed to foster both immediate progress and long-term sustainability. Applicants are evaluated annually through a competitive process. Key selection criteria include the clarity and ambition of the business plan, demonstrated business traction or revenue, leadership potential, and the capacity to generate economic or social impact within their community.

This opportunity is ideal for women of color at early to scaling stages of business development who are ready to accelerate growth, deepen their leadership, and expand community impact. With award amounts ranging from $10,000 to $20,000—plus additional support—recipients receive the capital and guidance they need to scale effectively. Grant funds are released following acceptance and completion of any required introductory program sessions. Educators and lenders involved in the fellowship may provide in-kind assistance such as coaching or educational content.
